Not a Skier? No Worries – Big White Ski Resort Has You Covered

You can effectively take the “Ski” out of Big White Ski Resort, because at Kelowna’s local mountain, there is so much more than just downhill skiing. Of course, if you are a skier or snowboarder, the world-class snow, diverse terrain, and ski-in, ski-out access can’t be rivaled, but if you’re needing a break from the planks you can find a plethora of outdoor adventure activities down in Happy Valley.

SKATING

Lace up your skates and take a lap on Canada’s highest elevation Skating Rink. Located in Happy Valley, this Olympic-sized ice surface is free for everyone to use – go for a leisurely lap or challenge your friends to a game of shinny. Skate, helmet and stick rentals all available in the Happy Valley Day Lodge.

TUBING

If you’re looking for “mega” fun, then you’re going to want to check out Big White’s MEGA Snow Coaster in the Happy Valley Adventure Park! A thrill seeker’s delight – the 5 specially-groomed lanes will keep the wind whipping in your face well after the rest of the lifts stop spinning.

SNOWSHOEING/NORDIC SKIING

Keep burning those calories without the vertical incline on our 25 kilometres of nordic and snowshoe trails! Set daily, nordic skiing is not only great exercise, but a great way to take in Big White’s breathtaking scenery. Nordic skis and snowshoes are both available for rent at the resort.

HORSE-DRAWN SLEIGH RIDES

Jingle all the way through the forests around Big White Ski Resort on the back of a horse-drawn sleigh. Intimate and romantic, festive and magical, this is the perfect activity for you and your love – or an adventure for the whole family! Make the experience truly unforgettable by combining the ride with a gourmet dinner at our picturesque warming hut tucked away in the forest. This is always a popular activity so be sure to book yours in advance.

DOG SLEDDING

Outdoor adventure time just got a whole lot cuter… Meet the team at Candle Creek Kennels – located below the Beginner’s Area in Happy Valley. These pups may be cute, but they’re also incredibly athletic – and will lead your dog sled through Big White’s stunning backcountry. You won’t want to miss out on this once-of-a-lifetime experience during your visit to Big White Ski Resort.

Weekly Events

Bingo on Tuesdays, Trivia on Thursdays, Moose Tube Time on Fridays, Saturday Night Kids’ Carnival and Fireworks – there are plenty of family friendly activities to enjoy after the lifts stop spinning at Big White Ski Resort! There’s also live music from Thursday to Sunday every week this season. Head to Globe Cafe & Tapas Bar for a performance from Jon Bos Friday and Saturday nights from 8-10pm, and Sundays from 4-6pm. He’ll also be playing in the Happy Valley Day Lodge every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 4pm-6pm. Check out the Big White Events Calendar to check out what’s happening during your visit.

APRÈS

Who said you had to get your blood-pumping to enjoy the resort? Après is not just for après-ski, après is for everyone! Grab a cold pint or a warm cocktail at The Woods outdoor patio in the village, warm up at Snowshoe Sam’s with some comfort pub food, taste your way around the world at Globe Cafe, soak in EPIC views and EPIC margaritas at the Cantina del Centro patio, or enjoy not one, not two, but three happy hours at The Bullwheel.
